A new purse pattern designer is going to be making her debut in the USA very soon and Henrietta's Handbags is honored to be carrying her designs! Without future fanfare, I would like to introduce you to Katherine Falco, someone I'm sure you will be hearing a lot more about in the future!
"My love of craft began at a very early age; I was always trying to create
something. My childhood dream was always to become a fashion designer. As
I got older I always fiddled with different crafts but it wasn’t until I got
married and had children that I started sewing making bags, bears, dolls,
quilts and pillows. With requests from people to make Craft patterns, I
started my business in January 2004 and I haven’t stopped since with a
pattern range of 28 patterns. I work from home, so that I can look after my
two children aged 4 and 6. I sometimes wonder what I am doing taking this
on but I am lucky to be able to work from home doing what I love best.
I believe my designs have a unique vintage or antique style. I love
anything that is old fashioned and always have. All of my Patterns can be
made in a day; I personally like to have a finished project within a
day. I like to create very unique designs and embellish them with antique
and vintage knick knacks. One of my favourite hobbies is to rummage through
antique and second hand stores to find a treasure. I really enjoy teaching
people - it is great to give people the encouragement to make an item. I find
most people think that they could never make a bag (I have to admit I was
the same) so I love to see how proud they are when it is finished.
My other hobbies include Millinery and Jewelry which also helps with my
designs. I make small headpieces and fascinators for a local shop and I
make fashion jewelry and bag designs to sell at our local markets.
I love going from one craft to another so that I never grow tired of doing
the same thing. Without realising it I am starting to follow my childhood
dream and now I dream of having my own fashion accessories line which would
include bags, hats and headpieces, jewelry and shoes."
