Buy A Handbag and Plant A Tree

Are you interested in preserving our planet AND looking stylish? Then the Ecoist bag is for you! An ecoist is defined as "an individual who seeks a modern, eco-friendly lifestyle" and you can show how much you care about the earth by purchasing these bags made of candy wrapper, food packages, and soda labels. As an added bonus, a tree is planted for each purchase, further enhancing your ability to make an impact on our planet.

These bags are the the brainchild of artist Marisa Rey who really wanted to make a difference in the world. The recycled candy wrappers are rejects from companies or are from discontinued candy and the fact that they are used again saves them from ending up in the landfill.

Each bag takes approximately 2-5 days to hand assemble in Mexico and sell from about $28 to $285. You can shop by color or collection and they will be debuting their Spring, 2006 line soon. It's time to feel really GOOD about buying a handbag!
