Israel Handbag Designer Uses Concept of Origami

A new Israeli handbag designer named Yael Rosen-Ben Shachar has been inspired by the Japanese concept of origami and has incorporated it's beautiful demensional style into her handbags. Origami is the art of paper folding and Ms. Shachar's first design took it's originations from a Furoshiki bag, which is a cloth folded into a tote shape and used for carrying bath articles into public bathhouses.

The new handbag is called the Vagabond and is triangular shaped with straps that cross over each other, making wide shoulder straps and a closure. The style is chic but informal and follows the curves of the body. Her bag line is called Kisim ( Hebrew for pockets) and prices range from $25 to $260.00.
