This totally cool handbag store was started by a mother and daughter team. Holly (the Mom) started sewing about 35 years ago and has dabbled in such creative pursuits as wood carving and jewelry making. Beth graduated from college with a degree in Psychology and worked in retail management, gaining invaluable business skills along the way. These 2 teamed up for a winning combination and the result was Pookabokit.
The name may seem strange but, like all interesting things in life, there is a story behind it! When Holly was young, she had problems pronouncing words and the word "pocketbook" came out to be "pookabokit". The rest, as they say, is history!
