Ana Marks - Handbag Designer to the Elite

Do you have lots and lots of money and love quality handbags? Then you need to check out luxury purses designed by Ana Marks.

Ms. Marks got her start in the handbag business about 15 years ago after taking classes in Commerce in South Africa. The desire to create bags started when she was searching for a special bag for a party on the royal yacht Britannia to celebrate Queen Elizabeth's birthday. After frantically searching all the exclusive shops in Palm Beach, Florida (where she now lives) without success, Ms. Marks decided she needed to make and market her own line of bags.

Intense research followed for 2 years until her first bag was born - a pink alligator handbag. The next step was to get others interested in her creation and, fortunately, Ms. Marks has an iron will along with great powers of persuasion! An ad was run in a magazine and, after more than 60 phone calls, a small showing was arranged for Saks of Fifth Avenue. Response was overwhelming and orders came in at around $15,500 for each day the show ran.

Ms. Marks now offers about 150 designs in lizard skin, crocodile, ostrich, and alligator. Her crowning achievement came in 2004 when Charlize Theron carried the Cleopatra Clutch costing $100,000 to the Oscars. Other clients include First Lady Laura Bush, Jennifer Aniston, Kate Winslet, and the late Princess Diana.

If you have a chunk of change laying around and love bags, be sure to check out Ana Marks's designs at exclusive stores in Palm Beach, Florida.
