Kodak Enters The Handbag Market

Kodak, long associated with cameras, has decided to enter the handbag market and target female consumers. The new line will basically be a specially designed and padded handbag that can be used to carry a camera and make a fashion statement at the same time.

The inner pocket on this new bag accommodates a small digicam and there is also room for keys, a wallet, etc. A line of neck and wrist bands will also be available with prices starting at only $19.99.

Kodak has also partnered with a company called Skinit which makes vinyl "skins" for cameras and other devices that fit right on the camera but can be taken off and changed. Prices for these skins will be about $12.00.

I think this is actually a very logical step for the company. Statistically speaking, women make purchase decisions for approximately 61% of consumer electronics in a family setting and it makes sense to give women more options and choices that will appeal to them.

The new handbags will be available starting in March, 2007.

Coach Handbags Launches New Bag

Move over, Louis Vuitton, because Coach Handbags is about to launch a new signature logo bag made of coated canvas beginning this June, 2007. This type of handbag has long been a mainstay of the Louis Vuitton market and has always been a money maker for the bag designing giant.

Word is that this new Coach handbag is very stylish and should sell well, particularly in the Japanese market as well as the USA. The price will be significantly less than Louis Vuitton bags and this, along with a new line of fragrances by Coach, lead stock market watchers to predict that Coach stock should be a good investment for the coming year.
